Recently, and as part of the Flex+ FFG Project in Austria, we have conducted research with respect to the energy exchange that Photovoltaic-Battery systems (usually available in residential buildings) can provide to the Day-ahead electricity market (in the form of 15-min interval schedules). The results of this research have now been published at the Energy Informatics journal. The main challenge of this line of research is the scaling of the involved optimization to a large number of battery-storage systems (hundreds or thousands of battery-storage systems).
